In the 10th grade I told my first boyfriend that sports writing was my passion. A few years ago, I told my husband the same thing. I worked in newspapers for 14 years and finally had my dream job, covering hockey for a living.
And it was all I wanted to do in my life. Until one day someone else decided I couldn’t do it anymore. And I realized that being a sports reporter wasn’t who I was … it was just what I did. And there’s a big difference.
